MAN STABBED TO DEATH IN SALFORD: Police received reports of man with stab injuries at a house on Wilbraham Road at 4.35am on Sunday 25 July. They found a 27-year-old man with stab wounds to the chest. The man died in an ambulance on route to Hope hospital. A 32-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in police custody.

TWELVE MEN INJURED IN M1 MINIBUS CRASH: The men are believed to be in their 20s and 30s and from the Rochdale are. The vehicle overturned in an embankment at Junction 42. One lane of the M1 carriageway was closed for about two hours as a result. Two of the casualties were in critical condition, five had serious injuries and five had minor injuries.

SALFORD TOWN HALL EMAIL SCANDAL: Twelve town hall workers have been punished after an email with a naked picture of a child was sent around to staff. The picture, which featured a naked child holding a knife, was part of a message titled 'why kids need fathers' that was sent around as a joke. It contained numerous images of young children. No one was sacked or suspended.

FRED DIBNAH'S STEAM ENGINE SOLD: The engine, which was built in 1912, was sold for £240,000 at a Cambridgeshire auction to Cheshire businessman Michael Oliver. Dibnah, who gained popularity through many television documentaries about his life, restored the machine over a 25-year period. It was last used to pull his coffin at his 2004 funeral.

Out of the window weather forecast: The sky unleashes some light showers today. Expect to see everyone walking about twice as fast as usual.
