RUBBISH STREAKERS INTERRUPT WORLD LACROSSE GAME: Two streakers tried to steal the show at the World Lacrosse Championship match between the USA and Canada. They took to the pitch with just more than a minute to go. The scene interrupted a very tense match that saw Canada seal a 10 – 9 victory. Fortunately they were half-arsed and kept their boxers on – fakers.

TRAVEL FIRM COLLAPSE GROUNDS HOLIDAYMAKERS: An estimated 500 holidaymakers arrived at Manchester airport only to be told that their flights had been cancelled after the collapse of Goldtrail. The firm, which planned trips to Greece and Turkey, suddenly went into administration at 4pm on Friday. The collapse has left an estimated 16,000 people stranded overseas.

NEIGHBOURS FREE BOY TRAPPED BY GATE: Seven-year-old Samuel Currier was trapped in an electric gate for 15 minutes as it slammed against his chest and leg. He was saved by up to 20 neighbours and his step-dad Mark using planks of wood and a pick axe. The incident comes just weeks after seven-year-old Semelia Campbell and a five-year-old girl in south Wales passed away under similar circumstances.

THIEVES TEAR DOWN WAR MEMORIAL: War memorials honouring 215 soldiers have been torn down by thieves for scrap. The two bronze plaques were embedded in a stone monument at Boggart Hole in Blackley and are inscribed with names of soldiers in the area who served overseas in World War I but never returned home. The plaques are believed to only have a scrap value of £150.

Out of the window weather forecast: Do whatever you can to escape the indoors. The day is much too lovely for confinement.

The collapse has left an estimated 16,000 people stranded overseas... are they stranded though? Can they not get to the airport and book a flight. Don't get me wrong I wouldn't be happy, but I wouldn't be stranded
