CHILD DEATHS ‘UNPREVENTABLE’: A review has been carried out over the deaths of Yolanda Molemohi, 4, and Theo Molemohi, 2, who were murdered by their father a year ago. Petros Williams killed his children at his flat in Whalley Range to punish his estranged wife for seeing other men. The review by the Manchester Safeguarding Children Board has found that the deaths of the two children could not have been predicted or prevented.
DEATH BY BEAN SPROUT: Scientists believe bean sprouts have been the cause of 151 cases of salmonella across the UK, including a case in Greater Manchester in August, where an elderly woman died. The Health Protection Agency said bean sprouts are still safe to eat if they were washed and cooked thoroughly.
PITCHFORK ATTACKER ARRESTS: Two men have been charged after a man was tied up, attacked with a pitchfork and dragged through the streets of Salford. The 36-year-old victim was attacked in a Graymar Road flat on Wednesday night. Two men, aged 29 and 38, have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and are due to appear at Salford Magistrates' Court today.
