Booze ban in place for Rangers return. Measures are being put in place for Tuesday’s Champions League tie, including the biggest alcohol-exclusion zone ever seen in Greater Manchester. Rangers fans have been given fewer than 4,000 tickets and assistant chief constable Ian Hopkins told fans without tickets: “You are not welcome here. Stay at home”.

Lancashire County Cricket Club’s £32m revamp has been put on hold after a government U-turn. Communities secretary Eric Pickles will review the plans for the 50-acre site, which included a controversial new Tesco’s store and could trigger a public enquiry. The decision is linked to a rejected counter proposal for a Sainsbury’s supermarket on White City Retail Park by Derwent Holdings.

Three women have been named Salford’s most wanted. The women, alongside six other men, are fugitives thought to be in the Salford area. They are wanted in connection with alleged crimes including robbery, violence, fraud, burglary, theft and false imprisonment. Detective chief inspector Alistair Mallen said: “There are still too many people who are on the run trying to evade justice.”

King Tut’s tomb is coming to Trafford. A recreation of the tomb of Tutankhamun will be moving to the recently-opened Museum of Museums at the Trafford Centre in October. The museum currently houses motoring and sporting memorabilia as well as collectables and contemporary art. “Unlike photographic documentation, a 3D reconstruction really delivers an exciting experience to all the senses,” said the exhibition’s scientific advisor Dr Martin von Falck.

Out of the window weather forecast: Grey, with shades of grey.
