A 33-YEAR-OLD has been convicted for the murder of a family of three in July last year. Pierre Williams battered Beverley Samuels, 36, her son Fred Wizzart, 13, and daughter Kesha Wizzart, 18 to death at their home in Fallowfield. He has also been found guilty of sexually assaulting the two women. He will now serve a minimum of 38 years in prison.
A MAN has been assaulted outside Sankeys Soap nightclub in Ancoats. The 27-year-old was pushed to the ground and stamped on by a group of men at around 3am on Saturday. The victim then managed to get a taxi to take him to the hospital. He has since undergone surgery on a broken ankle. Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
ONE OF THE WORLD’S most advanced observatories in Cheshire may face closure. Jodrell Bank is part of the eMerlin project of seven giant astronomy dishes. The project is under threat due to a loss of funding from the Science and Technology Facilities Council. A Jodrell Bank spokesperson has said they oppose the cut backs and will continue to push eMerlin to stay open.
MANCHESTER CITY face Reading on Saturday and are hoping to get their European aspirations back on track. Goalkeeper, Joe Hart told mcfc.co.uk: “We want to turn things around as quickly as possible and get some momentum up and if we do that then who knows where we can finish. I am sure there will be plenty of twists and turns yet.”
