A SERIAL BIGAMIST has been given a ten month suspended prison sentence. Emily Horne, 30, revealed to her fifth ‘husband’, Ashley Baker, that she was still married to her first husband while on their honeymoon after marrying in Oldham, September 2007. Horne, who has bipolar, was given a ten-month prison sentence, suspended for two years, and was described by the judge at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court as a “manipulative woman”.

A LUXURY CAR is the latest victim of Manchester city centre’s bollards. The Mercedes CLS-Class 320 CDI - which retails at £45,950 - suffered extensive damage to its front during the incident. The car’s owner, Dr Evelyn Yousef, a 57-year-old ophthalmologist, said, “it was the grace of God” that kept the car’s occupants un-injured by the infamous bollards. She also said she’d been confused as she’d not been in the city centre for 15 years despite the fact they only live in Hale Barns.

A MAN who beheaded his next-door neighbour has been detained indefinitely. Eric Cruz, 32, who has schizophrenia, had a delusional belief Patrick McGee, 63, of Crumpsall, Manchester, was planning to kill his 17-month-old son.

AN URBAN regeneration company has outlined its £650m plan to revitalise the heart of Salford. More than eight hundred homes, two hotels, shops, offices and a new square are included in the scheme, which would cover the size of twenty one football pitches. Areas and landmarks targeted in the regeneration include, Salford Central Station; Chapel Street; Bexley Square and Adelphi Square.
