THE GOVERNMENT is being urged to reconsider congestion charging in Manchester by North West MPs. A motion has been signed arguing that commuters to Manchester should have a say. So far, Ministers have given their provisional support to the scheme which will see £5 charges for people travelling into and out of Manchester from 2013.
SEVEN HUMAN TRAFFICKING organisers in Manchester have been sentenced to a total of 21 years in prison. Greater Manchester Police said: “Today we have once again seen some very dangerous people brought to justice for their role in the horrific and degrading sexual exploitation of a vulnerable women. The victim in this case was looking to make a better life for her two children when she agreed to come to Manchester, but instead she was forced into prostitution. ”
EIGHT MANCHESTER flights have been conatminated with fumes according to reports. Oxygen masks were released on the flight after complaints of feeling light headed. On one of the flights there was complaints of a gas-like smell. Experts have said that contamination can occur when air from the engines is used to pressurise the cabin.
PATRICE EVRA has signed a four-year extension to his contract, keeping him at United until at least June 2012. Sir Alex Ferguson said: “Patrice has developed into one of the best full-backs in world football and his infectious personality has helped build the incredible team spirit that exists at Old Trafford.
