A DRINK DRIVER who drove with her broken leg in a plaster cast sticking out of the side window of her car has been jailed. Gail Powell, 38, from Chorlton, swerved across Nell Lane, Withington, near the junction with Princess Parkway with her leg perched on the driver's side window sill. She has been sentenced to five months in jail.
TAXI DRIVERS in the city are being given etiquette lessons to improve their customer service image. The free course is currently running at Northenden College and is funded by the government. The aim is to get away from the 'couldn't care less' image that cabbies are tarnished with. One Manchester taxi company are now calling for the course to be made compulsory for taxi drivers.
MOSS SIDE is to feature in a Channel 4 documentary next week. Former troubled teen, James Benamor, who is now worth £77m, went undercover to meet people tackling gun and knife crime in Moss Side for The Secret Millionaire. The successful businessman then reveals his true identity before giving some of his fortune to those he feels deserves it. The Secret Millionaire is on Channel 4 at 9pm on Tuesday.
MANCHESTER CITY have signed Tal Ben Haim from Chelsea. The club signed the Israeli defender on a four year contract for an undisclosed fee. Ben Heim told mcfc.co.uk: “I want to win things with this Club and I know for many years that hasn’t happened. It’ll be hard and it takes time to build something.”
