Published on March 31st 2008.

BRITAIN has swept the board at the World Cycling Championships in Manchester, taking home gold medals in eight of the 10 Olympic events. Britain's victory was the biggest in the history of the championships. MEMBERS of Pro Manchester are in London today to teach the capital a thing or two about how Manchester firms work together. THE LIVERPOOL ACCENT is reportedly on its way to Manchester. A new study has found that the Scouse accent is heading out of Merseyside, down the M62 towards Cheshire, Lancashire and Greater Manchester. Researchers who once thought the accent was fading, now say it is becoming stronger. Unsurprisingly, the research was discussed at the ‘Celebrating Scouse' event, at Liverpool's Maritime Museum this weekend.

UNITED left Aston Villa boss Martin O’Neill in awe after the 4-0 on Saturday. Swallowing his pride was seemingly easy for O’Neill, who had nothing but praise for the Reds. He told manutd.com: “We’ve lost 4-0 at Old Trafford, but I’m actually ok. Having witnessed Manchester United’s performance, that’s what you have to aspire to. They are a very fine side, there is no question about that.”
