Friday 27 February: Glassing girl jailed, body found in Alderley Edge and man burgles his own street

Published on February 27th 2009.

AN AIR STEWARDESS who scarred a student for life by glassing him in the face, has been jailed. Lisa Kee, 29, from Stockport attacked 26-year-old student Liam Sharratt after he called her a slag in The Living Room bar. She hit him twice in the face with her wine glass, dragging it down his cheek and scarring him for life. Judge Martin Rudland told Kee: “You know the enormity of what you have done and the effects which will continue to be a blight on Mr Sharrat every time he looks in the mirror."

A DEAD BODY has been found in woodland in Alderley Edge. Walkers discovered the man's body in an area off Macclesfield Road, close to the Alderley Edge Country Park. The death is being treated as suspicious, and police are appealing for information.

A BABY WAS DUMPED on a pavement, after a thief found him in the back of a car he had stolen in Bolton. The mother of the baby was sat in her Lexus when a man in a police jacket approached her vehicle. Believing he was a police officer, she began to get out and he jumped in unaware she had a child in the back. A man has been arrested on suspicion of theft and kidnapping.

A MAN WHO BURGLED houses on his own street has been sentenced to four years and 10 months in prison. Philip Griffiths, 32, broke into three of his neighbour's homes on Chepstow Avenue, Sale between December 2008 and January this year.

Anonymous, as regards damned if you do and damned if you don't, I kind of half see your point, but is there not an argument for not actually nicking the car in the first place? I'm struggling with seeing the poor defenceless robbing git as too much of a victim of media manipulation here...

Regards the car thief, the alternative headline would have been "Innocent baby taken on ride of hell by heartless car thief". Seems like you're damned if you do and damned if you don't.
