A CITY CENTRE scammer has had his Porsche and £51,000 in cash seized by police. Peter Dale, 28, ran a counterfeit DVD scam from two shops in Affleck’s Palace where he sold bootleg films and computer games without informing the taxman. Detective Constable Chris Howarth said: “If he thought he was above the law he was mistaken. The fact that he was forced to give up a Porsche, which now sits proudly in our possession, is testament to that.”
THE PROPOSAL for a super club behind Beetham Tower has been rejected by the council’s licensing committee. The club, named Labryinth, would have been a 2500 capacity venue, open until 6am at the weekend. The owners of Sankey’s submitted the idea to the Council, who scrapped the idea because of concerns of public safety, crime and public nuisances.
METROLINK are to carry out surveys along the routes which they are to extend their service, in order to make sure they are environmentally aware. Experts will be checking to see if protected species live along the routes. The expansion will take the tram service to Oldham and Rochdale, Droylsden, Chorlton, and Media City:UK at Salford Quays.
SVEN-GORAN ERIKSSON is getting ready for summer signings. With the end of the football season drawing in, the Blues boss has admitted he has already got some ideas in mind.
