THE LOVE SAVES THE DAY outlet in Carver’s Warehouse in Dale Street is to re-open as a similar business. The premises have been bought by Creative studio four23 and engineers Martin Stockley Associates, neither of whom have experience in food and drink. The former coffee shop and deli will be called An Outlet and will start trading on 12 January in the New Year.
A WIGAN designer has come up with a ‘Monopoly’ Cheese Board – according to the BBC. Instead of London street names on the famous game you get the cheeses of the UK. Lowly Cottage Cheese is Old Kent Road and Stilton is the Mayfair of British cheeses. Approved by the British Cheese Board and, unsurprisingly, by the Stilton Cheese Makers' Association, Monopoly makers HASBRO have been asked to produce the board commercially.
TWO MEN stabbed in the early hours of Christmas morning are critically ill. The attack took place at the Akash restaurant in Middleton and followed a row in a pub earlier in the evening. Both attackers were white. The police have expressed confidence in finding the culprits.
SAHAR DAFTARY who died in a fall last weekend from her apartment in the NV buildings in the Quays is to undergo a second post mortem. According to the Manchester Evening News this follows concerns from her family that the first post mortem, which had found she’d killed herself, was false. 23-year-old Daftary’s ex-lover, Rashid Jamil, 33, was originally arrested in connection with her death and then bailed.Like what you see?
