ONLINE auction website, eBay, has removed Manchester United Munich memorial scarves and programmes from its listings. Scarves were handed to City and United fans at the derby match at the weekend. An eBay spokesperson said: ‘Due to the unique and commemorative nature of the scarves handed out at Sunday's football match at Manchester United, eBay will not allow the sale of these items on the site.’
PICCADILLY and Victoria train stations could be getting an underground link according to reports. The possibility of a tunnel linking Manchester’s main stations together is being considered as a solution to the growing congestion problems. Original plans for the Picc-Vic link were scrapped by the conservatives 30 years ago.
A STUDENT has been found dead in a Manchester hall of residence. The body of the 23-year-old was found in University Place Hall on Booth Street East, which is owned by Manchester University. The campus houses 300 post graduate students. Police do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances.
SIR ALEX FERGUSON is already putting the derby match loss behind him and is focusing on matches against Arsenal and Chelsea in April. He believes both these matches will be crucial. He told Inside United magazine: “The fact that the league is so close makes a big difference. All the top sides have dropped points. Teams are taking points off the top sides more than ever. But it looks likely that our home game against Arsenal and the match at Chelsea could make a huge difference.”
