ITV GRANADA IS STAYING PUT. The company has rejected plans to move to MediaCity at Salford Quays in 2011. ITV have said they have "dramatically" scaled back financial commitments and will therefore remain at their Quay Street base.
THE MEDIACITY COMPLEX will be built using materials transported along the Manchester Ship Canal from Liverpool using barges. David Glover, construction director for Peel Group, told the BBC: “MediaCityUK is a long-term development so it's very important that we look for ways to minimise our environmental impact. By using the Manchester Ship Canal to transport materials we are able to make the most of the site's location to reduce the amount of C02 we generate during construction.” 75 tonnes of paving materials will be transported by canal.
A PREMIER LEAGUE STRIKER has been mistaken for a robber in a Cheshire jewellers. Everton striker Victor Anichebe was challenged by police looking for a gang of robbers, as he looked in a jeweller's window with a friend. The footballer who was wearing a leg cast following surgery has now demanded an apology from Cheshire police who say they were suspicious because there had been a series of violent robberies in the area.
A CLOTHING COMPANY in Altrincham has lost a court case to allow it to use an alligator as a logo. A trademark judge ruled that Baker Street Clothing could not use the alligator image as it could easily be confused with French clothing firm Lacoste, which use a similar crocodile logo.

Love it!Although not giving £20 for that!Turn the website red, go can't be that hard.
Hey Graham, so, when Anichobe explained who he was, why did the plod 'cuff him?Had it been late at night they would have probably tasered and turned them over with their batons. The new police head-gear should be a tall white hood.
It's not a disgrace if he fits the description of one of the robbers. If it was a gang of fat old white women.... then yes, it would be a disgrace!
Scottee, if your arse is green you have more to worry about than the cost of paving !
If you put the website in fancy dress, I'll donate £20.

Then make me an offer and the highest at the end of the day will have a room for the day!!!! All proceeds straight to comic relief.01612478518 or respond here...”
Looking forward to seeing what mancon has in store for red nose day today!!!
If Anichebe was a robber then he wouldn't exactly be able to get a quick get away with his leg in a cast would he!A similar thing happened when Wayne Rooney and Alan Stubbs went to an estate agents down on the Kings Road a few years ago, they got kicked out of the place.
So if the highest is 5p it wins?Sod it I bid 6p!

75 tons of paving materials is only maybe 3 or 4 truckloads, or a fraction of a barge. Is this really worth reporting? I know good PR is hard to find but I'm sure Peel Holdings can do better...can't they?
Cheshire police stopped Victor Anichebe becuase he was a young black man looking in the window of an expensive jewlers. The incident is an absolute disgrace.
So let me work this out then.Peel holdings are moving 75 tonnes of paving from liverpool to the site via the manchester ship canal?surely thats far cheaper to do than use a shed load of lorries to do the same thing? green my arse!
Will the bricks for the Brick Man be brought up the Ship Canal by barge too? Or isn't he being built now?
