A SALFORD MAN has had his ear sliced off after an argument on Wednesday. The 53-year-old man had been speaking to the driver of a van outside his home at 1.40am. The discussion became heated and the van was driven at him twice. He staggered to Arrow Street where the driver chased after him and cut off his left ear. The victim then managed to call an ambulance. Once in hospital attempts were made to reattach the ear, but surgeons were unable to do so. Police say there is no clear motive for the attack.
TWO HISTORIC MANCHESTER BUILDINGS have been sold for just £1. Cemetery House and Entrance Lodge are situated at the gateway to Manchester's Philips Park and are both Grade II listed. The reason the buildings went at such a low price is because they are totally derelict and need to be restored. The couple have sold their own home to fund the project and are now renting a house while the work goes ahead.
THE BROTHER of shadow chancellor George Osborne has been banned from working as a junior doctor. Dr Adam Osborne, who lives in Chorlton, was working as a junior doctor at Manchester's psychiatric services but resigned when health bosses began an investigation into allegations he'd prescribed drugs to friends.
MANCHESTER CITY FANS may soon be able to order half-time pies from their mobile phones. Pupils at Cedar Mount High in Gorton came up with the idea which is now being considered by City of Manchester Stadium officials, who think there is potential for pre-ordering using available technology.
