A 16-YEAR-OLD BOY died on the spot in a car crash after being pursued by police. Rambo Osmanovic was driving his father's Mercedes without a licence when he crashed into a lamp post on Hyde Road. The pursuit began after he was stopped by police and drove off. Police chased him along the M67 before losing sight of the car, only to find the wreckage near Fernally Street.
ST GEORGE'S DAY MARKET in Piccadilly Gardens opened today ahead of honouring England's patron saint on 23 April. The markets selling food, crafts and artwork will be open until Sunday 19 April when the parade will be held. The Lord Mayor, army veterans, belly dancers and samba bands will leave Varley Street in Miles Platting at 11.30am before travelling along Oldham Road to Piccadilly Gardens and back again.
15 NEW ART STUDIOS will open in AWOL studios in Hope Mill on Pollard Street, Ancoats as the studio expands onto a second floor in the building. AWOL opened 26 studios in the mill last December and is now home to 35 local artists specialising in fashion, new media, photography, fine art, sculpture, ceramics and design.
EMIRATES IS TO OPEN a 8,500 sq ft business class lounge at Manchester Airport this summer.The 180-seat lounge with views over the runway will include a business centre, dining area, a bar and shower facilities. As part of the development, Emirates will be switching its flights from Terminal 2 to Terminal 1 in June.
