A DISABLED BADGE misuser has been fined £1,200 for using his aunt's blue disabled badge to park in Manchester. Stephen Goodchild, 69, from Sale used the badge to park on Dale Street in Manchester city centre in April. A city council officer had the vehicle removed and Goodchild has now been prosectuted.
MANCUNIAN VALUES are to be introduced to immigrants arriving in Manchester, according to reports. Council chiefs have put together a list of values over the past year. These include taking pride in the city, being friendly and having a sense of humour. The aim is that by pushing these values, it will improve the community integration of different races and faiths in Manchester.
A FALLOWFIELD couple are taking Argos to court after suffering burns from a sofa bought from the catalogue giant. The pair paid around £700 for the leather two-piece suite which caused the fungal infection on their bodies. According to reports, the cause of the burns is a fungicide contained within the sachets used to protect the sofas.
SIR ALEX FERGUSON will not be Manchester United's manager by the time he turns 70. The Reds boss has just over 3 and a half years left before his 70th birthday and says he wouldn't want to cast a shadow over his successor. He told Sky Sports: “I think no more than three years - maybe two more. I'll keep the enthusiasm up long past 70 - whether I'll still be doing the football, I'm not sure about that.”
