Wednesday 1 July: Plane crash survivors, Keith Bennett case is dormant and Soulja Boy doesn’t live in Oldham

Published on July 1st 2009.

POLICE have called off the search for Moors Murder victim Keith Bennett – 45 years after he disappeared. Last year, Greater Manchester Police tried to match pictures taken by his killers, Myra Hindley and Ian Brady, with aerial shots of the moor in an attempt to find Keith’s body. The case has now been reclassified as ‘dormant’, with Brady “holding the key” to finding the boy’s remains.

TWO MEN have miraculously been unharmed after the light aircraft they were travelling in crashed into a garden in Salford. The microlight plane was returning to nearby City Airport with engine failure and struck telephone wires as it came down. Nobody was in the house at the time; the only damage to the property is to a wall and a smashed car window. Both men, who are in their 20s, are in Hope Hospital.

MANCHESTER UNITED have signed a four-year deal with Wigan Athletic winger Antonia Valencia. The transfer of the 23-year old Ecuadorian has cost the Reds a reported £16m, and is the first signing since Ronaldo’s transfer to Real Madrid. Latics chairman Dave Whelan has said the two clubs have been in contact about Valencia for “two to three months”.

AN OLDHAM FAMILY have been deluged with phone calls after their number features on a famous rap song, Kiss Me Thru The Phone. Gerry Matley and Catriona Howard Smith get at least 60 calls a day from fans hoping to speak to rapper Soulja Boy, only to be told he is not from Oldham.

Brady doesn't remmber where he buried that poor childs body.when hindley returned to the place she suspected the lay of the land and the new roads and different landmarks had changed far too much. He will never tell and the torment will only stop when Keith's mother passes away.I think scientific advances will discover the body around the next couple of decades perhaps.Bless poor Keith and his mum.

I take it the plane crashed into the garden? Or it just appeared there by magic?

Didsburygirl - form the look of that sentence the pilots were travelling to the garden. So they may be injured, but at least they reached their destination.
