Published on September 30th 2008.

MANCHESTER'S health bosses will be in Piccadilly Gardens next Tuesday for 'question time.' People are invited to ask the most senior NHS officials any question on health related issues. The panel includes Basil Curley, spokesman for health & social care, Evelyn Asante-Mensah, chairman of NHS Manchester and Tom Wilders, director of strategic planning at Pennine Acute, which runs North Manchester General Hospital and will be hosted by Andy Crane. Questions can be submitted via email to: manchesterlink@blackhealthagency.org.uk

SPORTYCITY regeneration chiefs are looking for financial backing to build a world-class leisure facility on the site of the once proposed super casino. The owners of Manchester City are also rumoured to be interested in the New East Manchester site. If the development goes ahead it will reportedly become one of the biggest urban visitor destinations in Europe.

JOB CUTS are reportedly on the cards at ITV Granada, Manchester as part of a nationwide cut back. The ITV News Group has confirmed to staff that 429 full-time jobs out of 1075 will be axed across the country.

UNITED face Aalborg in Denmark tonight and John O'Shea is keen to repeat the success of Moscow. At a pre-match press conference he said: “It’d be very special. It’s a major challenge but facing up to that and responding is what this club is all about. As the manager always says, if we’re still in the competition after the group stages, that’s when we feel we’re in with a great chance.”
