THE FIRE which broke out at Panacea in Alderley Edge is being treated as suspicious. Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service have said there is extensive damage to the building following the blaze which happened four days after the venue's launch party. A spokesperson from Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “An investigation is underway but that could take a few weeks.” Bar owner, Joe Akka has said he plans for the business to be back up and running as soon as possible.
A MANCHESTER FIGHT NIGHT to find Britain's hardest doorman has been scrapped after venues refused to host it. The Ritz was one of the clubs approached but turned down the controversial event where 16 men fight against each other. It will now be held at Liverpool Olympia on September 28.
A LAPTOP containing the personal details of 385 ex-directors of insolvent companies has been stolen. The Insolvency Service has written to those from 122 firms it believes have been affected by the theft of equipment from its Manchester offices. Information on the company directors included name, address, date of birth and occupation.
MANCHESTER UNITED opened their Champions League defence last night with a 0-0 draw against Villarreal of Spain. Sir Alex Ferguson insists there were plenty of positives to take from United’s performance.
