<b>Wednesday 7 May:</b> A right to die in Salford, groper still at large and Freeman frees Flintoff

A RIGHT TO DIE scheme has been launched in Salford. Cards instructing doctors not to treat you in a medical emergency are now available from Swinton Library and across the city. David Entwistle, manager of Salford's Mental Health Social Work Team told the BBC: “The idea is that people will make an informed decision about serious medical treatment. Once this statement has been made it is legally binding."

POLICE are still trying to find a man who has assualted 19 females in Manchester city centre. The incidents tend to have happened in the mornings and women between 13 and 43 have been targeted. Greater Manchester Police want to remind women using Tib Street and adjoining streets to 'remain vigilant and avoid walking alone if at all possible' as this man is still at large.

UP TO 20 CARS were trapped in an apartment carpark for five days after the vehicle lift broke down. Residents at the Langley Building, on Dale Street, Piccadilly, were unable to use their cars when the lift which provided access to the two-level basement car park, stopped working. According to reports, residents say this is an ongoing problem in the building and many are putting in claims for reimbursement.

ANDREW FLINTOFF has been cleared of a speeding charge. With the help of celebrity lawyer, Nick Freeman (Mr.Loophole), Flintoff was cleared of doing 87mph on the M62 in Liverpool in July 2007. Flintoff's defence argued that the prosecution had sent his prosecution notice two days late.
