THE NPAS Barton police helicopter crew - which flies out of Salford's City Airport and Heliport in Barton - have released this series of stunning hi-res images of the region via their Twitter feed.
The fantastic photos, snapped from the helicopter's HD daylight and thermal imaging camera, include Manchester Christmas Markets, snow on the Corrie cobbles, a jam-packed Trafford Centre and Co-op's glowing One Angel Square.

National Police Air Service helicopters replaced localised police helicopter operations across England and Wales in 2012 and are used to track criminals, locate missing persons and offer aerial support at major incidents and events.
But when the NPAS Barton crew get a minute, they get snapping...

I am forever tweeting NPAS suggesting a calendar, some of their shots are fantastic and I would definitely buy a couple off them!!
Some hi-res night time thermal image photos of scrotes being collared or of a car on fire in Salford Precinct would be brill.
Good job there's no images of Rusholme or Longsight, because the locals would think they were under drone surveillance.
